Leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF Edwin Clark and leaders of other ethnic nationalities in Nigeria have sued President Muhammadu Buhari before a Federal High Court in Abuja over breach of the federal character provision of the Nigerian constitution.
The Attorney General of the Federation and the Federal Character Commission are also defendants in the suit.
The plaintiffs say President Buhari has consistently flouted the Nigerian constitution in his appointments in favour of a section of the country
They claim that key positions in the security sector of the country are headed by people from a particular ethnic group and religion especially from the Northwest and Northeast
One of the senior counsel representing the plaintiffs, Mike Ozekhome, SAN noted that the case, is one begging the government at the federal level to enforce the spirit and letters of the Nigerian constitution.

However, the matter could not be heard as parties and counsel for the defendants were absent in court.
Meanwhile the Presiding Judge, Justice Okon Abang has ordered that the defendants be served the hearing notice and other processes in the case and adjourned till 10th of July 2020 for hearing.
