Nigeria’s House of Representatives Committee on the Niger Delta Development Committee has continued its investigation into the alleged financial malfeasance and other activities in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
Chairman of the Committee, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has however stepped down from presiding over the session after making a short speech saying he is not on a revenge mission as reported in a news medium.
Ojo noted that since the investigation began there has been so much blackmail and this necessitated his stepping down, so that the hearing can be seen as fair and just before the country. It will be recalled that the Acting Chairman of the NDDC, Professor Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei had last week walked out on the Committee hearing after insisting that the Chairman is an interested party in some of the allegations so should not preside over the hearing.
