Primary and secondary school teachers across Niger state are writing the yearly professional qualifying examination which will certify them as classroom teachers.
The examination is being conducted by the teachers’ registeration council of Nigeria, TRCN
COVID-19 safety protocols are also being observed at the venue of the examination.
Niger state commissioner for education, Hannatu salihu, was received at the venue of the exams and was conducted round by the coordinator of TRCN in Niger state, Usman sani who expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the candidates.
The commissioner, Hannatu salihu, commended the council for initiating the exam which is aimed at ensuring that only professional teachers are in the classrooms, teaching pupils.
Hannatu salihu notes that the exam which is ICT based, would not give room for malpractices.
She adds that teachers who are not ICT compliant should make out time to learn, so that they will not be left behind, in the modern trend of information communication technology.
