Germany says it remains committed to deepening and strengthening bilateral relations with Nigeria as trade volume between the two countries hits €3billion.
German Ambassador to Nigeria, Annett Günther, said this while briefing journalists in Abuja on the relations between the two countries.

The envoy highlighted Germany’s main exports to Nigeria ranging from machines, food and chemical products while Nigeria’s main exports to Germany include crude oil accounting for 83%, food products 12% and other raw materials 4%.
Günther also pointed out that no fewer than 90 German companies are currently operating in Nigeria with over 17,000 jobs directly created and a minimum 10-fold indirectly.
She noted that all the European Union countries put together generated around 160,000 jobs in Nigeria, and Germany has invested over €600 million in development projects across all sectors of Nigeria’s economy, adding that this does not include the €620 million pledged to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
