Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, says the force will not tolerate acts of thuggery and violence during the November 11 election in Kogi state.
The country’s number One cop who said this during a meeting with relevant groups in lokoja on Wednesday also warned criminal elements to stay off the kogi election.
The inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, is visiting Kogi State for the first time since his appointment.
He assures the people at the gathering tagged “critical stakeholders meeting” of a peaceful governorship election which is less than 4 days away.
The police chief and his team also visited Governor Yahaya Bello at the government house, where he assures the state’s chief executive of their commitment to achieving a peaceful, credible, and acceptable election in the State.
The IGP’s visit to Kogi is part of the police engagement with relevant authorities across the states where governorship elections are scheduled to hold on Saturday
