The Bauchi State Action Committee on the Fight Against Gender-Based Violence, GBV has solicited for the establishment of a mobile court for instant prosecution of offenders of sexual gender-based violence in the state.
The call was made by the state chairperson of the committee, Bauchi First Lady Aisha Bala Mohammed, when she led members of the committee on a courtesy visit to Governor Bala Mohammed at the government house in Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.
Women and children have been identified as vulnerable groups, mostly affected by cases of sexual and gender-based violence in society.
The United Nations, therefore, set aside sixteen days, dedicated to galvanising support for the fight against sexual and gender-based violence, to eliminate the menace.

As part of the events lined up to mark the sixteen days of activism on gender-based violence in Bauchi State, the Action Committee led by the Bauchi State First Lady Aisha Bala Mohammed, who doubles as Chairperson of the committee on sexual and gender-based violence, says they were in the Bauchi State Government House to thank and appreciate the governor, for his moral and logistical support, in the fight against the SGBV, and to inform him of the successes and challenges recorded in the last three years.

The chairperson of the committee, solicited government intervention, in the establishment of a mobile court, to facilitate the speedy prosecution of sexual and gender-based violence offenders in society.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed commended the committee members for their doggedness, in the fight against SGBV in the state, promising to give them maximum support to succeed in that direction.
The Action Committee On Sexual Gender-based Violence in the state says the current fight to eliminate the menace, requires the support of all and sundry, appealing to the people of the state to support the effort, for the good of all.
