Niger state civil servants have again been paid a fraction of their salary.
This is the second time this year that the state government has paid its workers a certain percent of their salaries.
The state government had paid its civil servants, seventy percent of their July salary, despite the organized labour’s stand against it. The state government attributes the action to a shortfall in the state’s allocation.

The organized labour is holding a meeting to know the next line of action to take.
In a letter jointly signed by the chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Niger state chapter, Yakubu Garba, and the chairman, Trade Union Congress, Yunusa Tanimu, asked the workers not to accept any fraction of their salary, as the state allocation for November was enough to pay the full salary of the civil servants.
The organized labour is looking at the possibility of embarking on an indefinite strike from Tuesday next week, subject to final decisions reached.
