Government at all levels and private sector have been urged to invest more in Agriculture especially in rural communities for food security.
This was the submission of various speakers at the Annual farmers and stakeholders interaction program for rural farmers held in Oshogbo, the Osun State capital.
Nigeria has been projected as one of the countries to be worst hit by food crisis in 2021.
This was contained in a report by the United Nations Food and Agriculture organisation.
Floods, climate change, Insurgency and Covid-19 have been identified as major factors responsible for the impending food crisis.
A visit to some farms in Osogbo showed that the farm produce were badly affected by climate change.
At the Annual farmer and stakeholders interactive forum for rural farmers, participants who were drawn from rural communities were enlightened on the need to plan ahead to avert the looming food crisis.

The forum provide opportunity to share experience and ideas on issues bothering on sustainability in Nigeria in preparation for 2021 planting season.
Speakers at the forum harped on the need to adopt irrigation farming system.
