The border between Nigeria and Niger Republic has been opened on the Maigatari corridor for trade facilitation after directive by President Bola Tinubu.

Zonal Comptroller of the Nigerian Customs Service for Kano-Jigawa Command, Dauda Chana who announced the development on Thursday, warned against exportation of food commodities that are in dare need at the moment by Nigerians.
Finally, trade and commercial activities have resumed between Nigeria and Niger Republic at the Maigatari border in Jigawa State and it was a moment of excitement at the community as the Customs chief, returned all recently seized food items to their owners, with a caution that they have to be sold in Nigerian markets within the area.
