An Abuja Federal Capital Territory high court has fixed 23th of march, 2021 for judgment on suit bothering on the enforcement of fundamental human right between the members of the Niger delta ex agitators and the inspector general of police, Abubakar Muhammed, the presidential amnesty program office and three others.
Justice a b Mohammed adjourned after counsels in the matter adopted their written addresses.
The counsel for the ex-agitators, Osigwe Momoh had prayed for reliefs ordering the court under section 33, 34, 35, 39, 40, 41, and 44 of the 1999 constitution, to grant his clients the guaranteed fundamental right to life and freedom of association.

Momoh also alleged that his clients were beaten and manhandled by security officials sometime in November 2019, which lead to the death of an unborn child, stating that the act is illegal and an abuse of executive powers.
The applicants are also urging the court to grant an order of injunction restraining the respondents, its agents and representatives from preventing them from further exercising their lawful rights to liberty, assembly and association.
The defendant’s counsel, tamari Ali-Bozi who replied on point of law filled a written address, urging the court to dismiss the suit, on grounds that it lacked merit.
Justice Mohammed therefore adjourned to 25 march, 2021 for judgment.
The defendants in the suit are, the inspector general of police, presidential amnesty program office, the attorney general of the federation and one officer Pretel Leghemo.
