The Director-General of World Trade Organization, WTO Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala wants the Nigerian government to implement the safe school initiative to stop the spate of attacks on schools in the country.

Speaking during a visit to Nigeria’s women affairs Pauline Tallen in Abuja, the WTO boss said, schools in Nigeria, especially in the rural areas need to be adequately protected.

The World Trade Organization boss, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala decried the present state of security in Nigeria, most especially the kidnapping of students in their schools saying it is shameful.

The WTO boss paid a visit to the Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen as part of solidarity for the development of Nigerian women.

The WTO boss told the Minister of Women Affairs that the organization is working on e-commerce which women can leverage to create wealth.

Some women who were part of the meeting expressed optimism that the presence of the female WTO boss and a gender friendly Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement would allow more successful entreprenuers in Nigeria.

Recall that the African Continental Trade agreement aims to lift about 100million Africans, mostly women out of poverty by 2063.
