Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State, Southeast Nigeria, has witnessed another tragic incident, with the killing of two Policemen and three members of Neighbourhood Watch.
The latest incident is reported to have occurred last Friday in Igga Community.
This attack comes just days after Governor Peter Mbah visited Nimbo community in same Uzo-Uwani Council Area over the murder of four civilians by suspected armed herdsmen.
Spokesperson of the Enugu State Police Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement release late Sunday said the security operatives fell victim to an unprovoked and unwarranted attack by criminal elements harbored within the Igga community, but did not name any group as being responsible for the attack.

Ndukwe says the attack occurred while the security team was providing protection to a group of visiting investors from Lagos, who were touring a proposed agricultural investment site in the area.
The statement explains that during the assault, the suspected gunmen ambushed the security team, resulting in casualties.
He notes that while some members managed to escape, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), one Neighbourhood Watch personnel, and three members of the investor team were killed and their bodies initially went missing.
Following a subsequent search and manhunt operation, three suspects believed to have orchestrated the attack were apprehended, leading to the discovery and recovery of the bodies of the slain policemen and Neighbourhood Watch Group members in the forest on May 4.
The latest attack adds to the growing security concerns in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, which has witnessed series of violent killings by armed gangs believed to have formed a nest in the vast forest of the area which shares common buandary with Benue State.
