Katsina State Commander of the National Drugs Law and Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Sule Momodu has charged private schools across the state to imbibe the habit of administering drug tests on students after resuming holiday.
Momodu who made the call during a meeting with the Association of Proprietors of Private Schools Owners in the state on how to end drug abuse in schools held at Shaharab School said, the essence is to check the rate of drug abuse among students.

The Katsina NDLEA boss also said the issue of drug abuse among youth is quite alarming hence the need for all hands to be on deck to address it.
The Commander further attributed most of the social vices happening in the State to drug abuse and advised parents to take proper care of their wards.
Responding, one of the proprietors, Dr. Abdulkarim Rimi said, schools provide the platform for addressing the drug abuse challenge.
He suggested that more ways should be adopted to eliminate the menace among students and promised that, the private schools are ready to work with the NDLEA in order to address the menace.
