The body of the former presidential aspirant under the defunct National Republican Convention, NRC, late Joseph Nnabuchi Nwodo of Ukehe in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, South-East Nigeria has been laid to rest, as family members, relations, political associates, and well-wishers paid their last respects.
Late Joe Nwodo as he is fondly called who was the elder brother of the former Enugu Governor, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo as well as that of former Information Minister and immediate past President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide, Nnia Nwodo, died at the age of 77.
It was the final journey of late Joseph Nwodo which began on Saturday morning with a funeral service at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Ukehe where the clergy and hundreds of mourners turned out to pray for the repose of the deceased.
In his sermon, the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, Most Reverend Godfrey Onah, described the late Joseph Nwodo as a good Christian, urging the congregation to live a good life worthy of emulation.
Speaking on the lives and times of the late lawyer, scholar and politician, Bishop Onah called on the Nwodo family to continue to live a life of humility, hard work and service to humanity as exemplified by their father, brother and son.

Emotions took over family members as the late Joe Nwodo took the last lap of his journey to mother earth from the Church premises, to the grave side at the family burial ground where the body was interred after a brief religious rite.
For the son and siblings of the late Joseph Nwodo, he left legacies that are exceptional and need to be emulated.
Other sympathizers who spoke to ait.live described the late Joe Nwodo as one in a million who they say the people will surely miss.
The burial ceremony was attended by top government functionaries including Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige who led the Federal Government delegation, serving federal and state cabinet members, National Assembly members, legal practitioners and political associates, among others.
