Buhari approves 6 new Tech Universities/ UTME 2021

Six years after President Muhammadu Buhari promised to establish Universities of Technology in his manifesto as a candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in 2015, the ministry of education has announced the Presidential approval to establish six federal universities of Technology across Nigeria.

Permanent secretary ministry of education , Sonny Echono who announced this at a media briefing noted that president Buhari blamed the lean resources for the delay in keeping to his promises in technological advancement.

The institutions are upgrade of four existing universities in Yola, Akure,Owerri and minna with two brand new ones in Jigawa and Akwa ibom

The permanent secretary also told journalists that President Muhammadu Buhari is very unhappy following how covid-19 has exposed the weak health institutions and facilities and has given full support for the Federal University of Health Services Otukpo

Meanwhile, the joint admissions and matriculation Board, JAMB has asked Candidates who were scheduled to take examination in 24 delisted cantres to proceed to print their examination notification slips from Sunday, June 20, 2021 for their new scheduled date and time.

JAMB spokesman Fabian Benjamin in a statement said this applies only to centres delisted.

JAMB had on Saturday evening on day one of the 2021 UTME delisted 24 examination centres out of 800 for performing below the tolerable limit of the Board while over 40 others were put on the watch list.
