The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested the gang leader suspected to be the mastermind of the post-election violence that led to the gruesome murder of six corps members, and a woman police officer, among other dastardly acts, in the Giade Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Bauchi Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed, while parading the suspects, said the efforts are part of the police unwavering commitment, to ensure justice prevails for the families of the deceased.

It could be recalled that during the 2011 post-election violence, many lives and properties worth billions of Naira were lost in the country, including the Giade Local Government Area of Bauchi State, where no fewer than six corps members were also killed, including a woman police officer said to have been mercilessly killed by some miscreants.

Thirteen years after, Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Mohammed, said the command had succeeded in the arrest of the suspected gang leader, Kabiru Musa, popularly known as Dawa, suspected to be the mastermind of what many have described as inhumane acts.

Though the suspect, Kabiru Musa, denied his involvement, one of the eyewitnesses who was a former chairman of the PCRC, Giade Local Government, confirmed to the police that Kabiru Dawa was fully involved in the crimes.

Among the suspects paraded also include Yusuf Umar of Warji Local Government Area, who was allegedly involved in child trafficking, and sold his five-year-old biological daughter for 1.5 million Naira.

CP Auwal Mohammed said, all the suspects would be charged to court.
