The indefinite nationwide strike called by Organised Labour was fully complied with in Kano State, North-West Nigeria on Monday with union leaders going round to enforce compliance.
The premises of various courts, government offices and banks were shutdown with security personnel seen in some of the locations.
Although private commercial business owners were going about their businesses, government-owned educational institutions are not operational.
There is free flow of traffic in parts of the city centre for those going for their private businesses and activities not affected by the industrial action.
And in Ebonyi State, South-East Nigeria, there is shutdown of activities in commercial banks, schools, hospitals and the State High Court in Abakaliki, the state capital.

AIT.live monitored the action around 8 o’clock in the morning and observed that entrance gates into banks were locked, with customers gathered in groups outside the premises.
It was the same situation at the State High Court complex, located within the city centre.
Though AIT.live could not access the new State Secretariat at the Ochudo Estate, reports indicate that workers stayed away from offices in compliance with the directive of the Organised Labour.
Residents of Abakaliki are divided in their opinions over the deadlock in minimum wage negotiations following the N494,000 demand by Organised Labour and the N60,000 offered by the Federal Government.
Already, some may be counting losses as the strike may hit hard on their daily economic targets.
