In an effort to create digital literacy skill and providing employment opportunities to the youths, Ebonyi State Government has launched a 3-month free digital skill acquisition scheme.
Officials told AIT that 65 young men and women will kick start the free training scheme which is aimed at enhancing the digital literacy skill of youths in the State.
Speaking at the flagg-off event to mark the commencement of the first pilot beneficiaries of the program, the wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Uzoamka Nwifuru highlighted the essence of the scheme in bridging the Digital knowledge gap and assisting the people to be self-reliant in their endeavors.

Mrs Nwifuru noted that Basic and practical skills in Information Technology and digital literacy is key to self development, assuring that the State government will not only provide the conducive training environment, but will also empower them with start-up kits
The 3-months training scheme will be on five different courses to include; Frontend Development, Hardware maintenance/Networking, Graphics design, Video Editing, and Content creation.
Some of the participants expressed delight in being part of the first set on the program, assuring to utilize the knowledge gained for self development and creating digital empowerment..
Officials revealed the pilot phase of 65 beneficiaries are drawn from across the 13 Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State, and are expected to undergo the 3-month hands on digital skill acquisition training scheme which is being coordinated by the office of the wife of the Ebonyi State Governor.
