An unconditional release of leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kalu from detention will greatly improve the socioeconomic lives of people of the south east region of Nigeria.
Youths from the seven clans of Ibeku in Umuahia Abia State the home town of the IPOB leader who said this in Umuahia, the Abia State capital are therefore appealing to President Bola Tinubu to grant Nnamdi Kalu pardon in the spirit of one Nigeria and peace in the south east region.
Eminent Nigerians across the south east region and beyond have at various times requested President Bola Tinubu to exercise his constitutional authority as prescribed in section 175 of the 1999 Nigerian constitution as amended and grant pardon to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kalu.

The detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kalu has been in the facility of the department of state service, DSS, since 2021 when he was re-arrested in Kenya and brought back to continue his trial on alleged treasonable felony.
Since the re-arrest of Kalu in 2021, schools, businesses and other commercial activities have been grounded in the south east resulting in violent attacks on those who refuse to observe the Monday sit-at-home in the region.
His kinsmen who are obviously not happy that three years after his re-arrest, Nnamdi Kalu is still in detention are appealing to President Tinubu to release Kalu to them in the interest of peace and justice and to strengthen their hope in the one Nigeria project.
The youths who represented the seven clans of Ibeku urged all politicians not to politicize the detention of Nnamdi Kalu as doing so will be counter productive for the natio and the south east region in particularly.
