Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara says he is not an ungrateful person like he has been portrayed by his immediate predecessor and his supporters.
He argues that were it true, the negative trait would have manifested a long time ago.

Addressing a large gathering of Ikwerre sons and daughters who came to pay him a solidarity visit, Governor Fubara who likened himself to a child being forcefully fed, challenged all those accusing him of being wicked and ungrateful to prove their allegations, saying that he has left the matter for God to judge.
They came from Emohua, Ikwerre, Obio-Akpor, and Port Harcourt… all the four local government areas that make up the Ikwerre ethnic group in Rivers State

Cutting across various divides, the proud Ikwerre sons and daughters comprising political and traditional leaders, women and youth groups all united under the umbrella of their socio-cultural group the Ogbako Ikwerre Worldwide were at the Government House to show solidarity with Governor Sim Fubara.

Their visit is coming at a time Governor Fubara is locked in a political battle with one of their sons and immediate past governor of the state.

Speaking in one voice, the Ikwerre people who also thanked Governor Fubara for the good things he has done for them since he assumed office, say they will not be party to anything that cause crisis or disaffection in Rivers State.
Governor Sim Fubara says he’s not an ungrateful person.

He says he would remain indebted to the Ikwerre ethnic group and vows never to take the peoples support for granted.
The governor further appeals to the people to remain peaceful, no matter the level of provocation.
Sim Fubara says he intends to leave office as a fulfilled and peaceful man.
