The World Muslim League has disbursed N2.1 billion to 1,849 orphans in Kebbi State to cater for their upbringing.
The amount was disbursed through the bank account of individual recipient ranging from N400,000, N800,000, N1 million and N2 million, in Birnin Kebbi.
The exercise was flagged off by Kebbi State Deputy Governor, Umar Tafida, under the supervision of the head of the delegation from Saudi Arabia, Ustaz Atiyya Bin Ali Al-Zahrani.
The acting Director of the Muslim World League, Nigeria Regional Office, Mallam Al-Amin Ahmad Hamza, said the fund is for the sole purpose of caring for the health, education and upbringing of orphans under their care to become productive members of the society.


He emphasised that the World Muslim League has also approved one million dollars for nutrition programme to cater for malnourished children in Jigawa, Kaduna and Kebbi States which would take off soon
The Deputy Governor, Umar Tafida commended the World Muslim League and Saudi Arabia for their Humanitarian services to the world.
He described the N2.1 billion disbursed, as a monumental assistance to serve as foundation for education and productivity for the orphans to transform them into gainful citizens.

Tafida thank the donors for their benevolence to orphans, less privileged and others in need.
Speaking on behalf of the recipients, Hussaini Yahaya expressed immense appreciation and urged well-to-do individuals to endeavour to shoulder the burden of education, healthcare and wellbeing of orphans as encouraged by Religious Tenets.
