END SARS

No fewer than 17 Endsars protesters who converged on LEKKI Toll gate Sunday to commemorate the 4th anniversary of the Lekki Massacre were arrested by Security Operatives.

The security operatives including some soldiers from nearby 81st Division were sighted by AIT crew Early Sunday as they took strategic positions around the Lekki Toll Gate axis.

A civil rights activist who condemned the heavy security presence at the Lekki Toll gate on a day like this was immediately arrested by a police officer standing and watching while the interview was going on.

This did not deter the activist and immediately he stepped into the waiting van of the Lagos state tax force parked nearby he continued to speak on the ills of breaching his fundamental rights to protest before the van moved away to where they will be detained.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos state command, Lanre Idowu who later arrived the scene refused to speak to the press as he remained inside his official car surrounded by his men.

Recall that some protesters same day in October 2020 were killed at Lekki Toll gate during a nationwide wide protest to condemn police brutality and push for reform of the police for better service to the nation.
