The National President of the Parents Teachers Association Of Nigeria, Haruna Danjuma has criticized the managers of federal government colleges for poor healthcare services, in the school despite the huge budgetary allocations to the schools.
The PTA National President who was reacting to the death of 13-year-old, junior secondary two students, Yahaya Nuhu Aliyu, of federal government college, Kwali Abuja, challenged the minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, and indeed all state Governments to prioritize healthcare service to avoid preventable deaths.
According to Haruna Danjuma, who spoke to ait. live the deceased student suffered malaria, 4.0 and the school facility could not handle it, they had to resort to a private hospital, Rhema Foundation hospital, where the teenager died.
While calling on the family of the deceased student to bear the irreparable loss, The PTA has called on the federal ministry of education to immediately institution an investigation to unravel the remote and immediate cause of the death of Yahaya Nuhu Aliyu.

His health soon deteriorated after the class and his classmate raised an alarm that Yahaya was not breathing well, which prompted the school authorities to rush him to a hospital outside the school compound.
