The Gombe and Adamawa state governments have taken a step closer to resolving the boundary crisis between the Lunguda and Waja communities.
The committee saddled with this task has held its second meeting in the Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The committee on rebirth and sustenance of peace among Lunguda and Waja communities of Adamawa and Gombe States was set up by the two state governors and chaired by the two deputy governors, Crowther Seth and Manassah Jatau.
The strategy adopted by the committee is constant engagement with the people from both sides of Lunguda and Waja. The traditional rulers who are members of the committee have agreed that perpetrators of the unrest must be called out by their names, instead of addressing the issue as an entity.
The youths of the communities have been advised to resist being used as agents of trouble makers to cause the crisis.
The committee believes that constant engagement with the two warring communities will put an end to the crisis
The Longuda people are mainly from Adamawa state and Waka people from Gombe state.
The communities had lived and intermarried for centuries until recently when the crisis erupted, resulting in the loss of lives and properties.
