The 10.5-kilometer road from the Sango community that leads to Lisa town, the site of the crash, was constructed shortly after the incident. However, residents claim that the road was poorly constructed as it was motorable for only six months and has since become impassable.
The arcade has also been left to deteriorate, and the 2.7-acre memorial ground overgrown with thick bushes and thorny grasses.
According to the Olu of Lisa, Oba Najeemden Odugbemi, several attempts have been made to renovate the memorial arcade, but these efforts have been unsuccessful.
