Benue State Government has expressed worry over the recent disappearance of an indigene of the state who is a reporter with Vanguard Newspapers, Tordue Henry Salem, declared missing in Abuja over a week ago.
The Government appealed to security agencies to do everything possible to uncover the whereabouts of the reporter, noting that if by chance the young man is being held by any of them for whatever reason, they should release him or in the alternative, charge him to court if he has committed any crime known to the law.

In a statement by the Supervising Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, the Government is equally deeply saddened by the abduction of three young Nigerians of Benue State origin, Kondo Immaculate Sedoo, Terlumun Yiye and Jennifer Iorliam Awashima in Chafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The three prospective youth corps members were on their way to report at the orientation camps in Sokoto and Kebbi States.
The State Government further appealed to the Inspector-General of Police and the Director-General of the Department of State Service, DSS to build on their synergy and rescue the journalist and the young Nigerians so that they can return to their families.
The Benue State Government maintained that it is committed to the safety of all her indigenes at home and in the diaspora and will not rest on its oars until Salem and the prospective youth corps members are rescued from the hands of their abductors.
