Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku has presented a proposed budget of 146.6 billion Naira for the 2022 fiscal year before the House of Assembly.
The Governor cautioned all state government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies against financial leakages, as the government targets to consolidate its Internally Generated Revenue base.

A total budget estimate of 146.7 billion Naira was presented to the legislature for consideration, with a capital expenditure of 68.7 billion, making 46% of the budget, and a recurrent expenditure of 78 billion Naira, which represents 53 per cent of the budget.
The proposed budget is above that of the previous year with 5 billion Naira.
Governor Ishaku said the budget of the previous year has performed well, despite the Covid-19 economic challenges, with the ongoing Jalingo flyover and road dualization, as well as Lacheke – Pantisawa roads construction, and achievements in the health, agriculture, and education sectors, among others.
The governor emphasized that the completion of the ongoing projects will be fast-tracked, to ensure the workability of the 2022 proposed budget.
He also charged government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to sit up, in the remittance of Internally Generated Revenue, and avoid leakages.
Taraba’s proposed 2022 budget will be affected by economic variables, which include, the national oil benchmark, inflation rate, and the dollar exchange rate, among others.
