From Nasarawa State is this piece of cheering news that the state government plans to invest over N12 billion in the renovation and construction of school infrastructure across the state.
The State Commissioner for Education, John Mamman, who said this in an interview with ait.live in Lafia, the state capital, further explained that the N12 billion investment forms part of the state’s counterpart contribution in partnership with the World Bank and the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) a Non-Governmental Organization.
Education is widely regarded as the cornerstone of development and the Nasarawa State Government is taking bold steps to strengthen the educational sector of the state.
The State Commissioner for Education, John Mamman explained that the N12 billion investment forms part of the state’s counterpart contribution in partnership with the World Bank and the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) a Non-Governmental Organization overseeing the implementation.
According to Mamman, the first phase of the initiative will focus on renovating 690 existing schools, while the second phase will see the construction of 30 new schools across Nasarawa State.

The Commissioner urged teachers to maintain professionalism and serve as role models to their students by upholding the ethics and standards of the teaching profession while appealing to students to focus on their studies, shun social vices and limit the misuse of social media, emphasizing the importance of education in shaping their future.
Only recently, the Nasarawa state Ministry of Education distributed learning materials worth N46 million to secondary schools to promote effective teaching and learning among students across the state.
