Former Minister of Sports Solomon Dalung says Nigeria cannot be a One-Party state despite the desperate moves by the ruling All Progressives Congress APC following what he described as an abysmal failure on their part.

Dalung said this in Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital when he appeared as a guest speaker in a one day conference geared towards sensitizing the electorates on the importance of actively participating in 2027 general elections.

The event which had dignitaries from across different regions provided a platform for Nigerian voters to assess the gains of Democracy in Nigeria since the annulment of the June twelve nineteen ninety three election which led to the death of MKO Abiola who was the Presidential candidate of the social Democratic party SDP whom the Nigerian government after so many years admitted to have won the election. Although the Nigerian government under President Mohammadu Buhari tendered an apology to the family of the late MKO Abiola even went a step further to honour him by naming June twelve the new Democracy Day in Nigeria. Participants believe that It is not enough considering what the man MkO Abiola represented.

They reiterated that the ruling APC have not lived up to expectations while describing those pitching tents with them as politicians with pecuniary motives.

Some of those in attendance were the representative of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El Rufai, Chairmen of political parties across the southern states as well as Nigerians who subscribe to the idea of an alternative platform to change the narrative of corruption in governance.
