Indigenes from at least 15 Nigerian states are said to have lost their lives in the recent flood disaster that ravaged 3 communities in Mokwa town, killing more than 200 people, and displacing about 9,000 others.
Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba revealed the statistics when he received a visiting team from Catholic faith-based Veritas University at Government House, Minna.
He described the Mokwa flood as a national disaster.
The Deputy Governor also commended his visitors for being the first faith-based organisation in the country to have paid the state and the people a condolence visit with donations.
He urged the faith-based organisation to continue praying for God to avert the recurrence of such incidents.
