The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency, (RUWASA) in Kano State, has launched a training programme for Heads of Departments, (HODs) from six local government areas in the state.
The training is aimed at achieving Open Defecation Free, (ODF) Status in the local governments of Doguwa, Sumaila, Bebeji, Tudunwada, Tofa, and Bunkure.
The Managing Director of the Agency, represented by the Director of Planning and Mobilisation, RUWASA, Zahara’u Isyaku, emphasised the importance of achieving ODF status in the six local government areas.
She added that the training would equip the HODs with the necessary knowledge and skills, to progress towards achieving ODF status in their respective local governments.
Open defecation is a major health concern, and eliminating it would have a significant impact on the health, and well-being of residents in Kano State.
