The Adamawa State government has distributed relief items to no fewer than 4,000 households affected by the recent devastating flood that ravaged seven communities in Yola South local government area of the state
Victims of the recent flood have continued to count their losses while those who recorded fatalities in their families mourn their loved ones.
Houses destroyed, wares gone with the flood, while farmlands washed away, leaving the affected persons helpless but for this succour by the state government
Hunger and anguish best describe the condition of these Nigerians, who even before the advent of the flood, were battling with the harsh economy which has continued to bite harder.
Items distributed include: 25kg of maize and of rice, respectively, sugar, cooking oil, one carton of noodles, clothing material, a mat and seasoning per household

The leader of the victims support committee and Deputy Governor of the state, Prof Kaletapwa Farauta said the items distributed were brought by the federal government, the office of the first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the National Emergency Management Agency NEMA, the state government as well as other organizations and well-meaning Nigerians.
She urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items as it was meant to bring immediate succor to their families.
The National Emergency Management Agency NEMA has reported that apart from the 29 confirmed deaths, 11 persons are still missing since the devastation caused by the flood, leaving families severely shattered and heartbroken
