Defence Intelligence College Trains 57 Military, Para-military Personnel

The Defence Intelligence College has trained 57 security officers selected from both the military and para-military agencies in an effort to enhance their operational efficiency and deepen inter agency collaboration among security institutions in Nigeria.

The Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye who was speaking at the combined graduation of ‘Advanced Defence Intelligence Officers Course, and Document Security Course 12, 2025, noted that security challenges facing Nigeria are evolving, complex and dynamic hence the necessity of the training.

Available evidence indicates that poor inter-agency collaboration among Nigeria’s security institutions is one of the major factors hindering effective conflict resolutions and security management in the country.

The Management of the Defence Intelligence College says the training of the 57 officers selected from both the military and para-military agencies is targeted at bridging the gaps.

The Commandant of the college, Rear Admiral Patrick Effah, emphasised on the role of effective collaboration among security personnel.

One of the graduating officers, Emmanuel Miji, promised proper utilization of the knowledge acquired from the training.

The graduates came from various backgrounds representing the Nigerian Police, Customs, NAPTIP, Correctional Services, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, among others.

Awards were presented to those who distinguished themselves in their various fields of endeavour.
