Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has advised the new Secretary to the state government to guard the office with honour, discharge his duties with respect, and protect the interests of the state.
The Governor, who on Monday swore in Benibo Alabraba as the new Secretary to the Rivers State Government, also charged him to see his appointment as a call to duty, especially at a time his administration really needs to win back the confidence of the people, now that peace has finally returned to the state.

Anabraba, who replaces Dr Tammy Danagogo, is a former lawmaker and was, until his appointment, the Commissioner for Housing.

Governor Fubara wants the new secretary to the state government to work and guard his office with honour.
He also advised Anabraba, who has been a lawyer for over two decades, against abusing his powers.
Monday also saw the Rivers State Governor inspecting the Eneka section of the 62. 65-kilometre Port Harcourt Ring Road project
Governor Fubara, who was welcomed to the area by excited residents, assured that his administration will do everything to ensure that the road, which cuts across six local government areas, is completed on schedule.

The governor described the Port Harcourt Ring Road as one of the most significant infrastructure projects undertaken in the history of the state, adding that its completion will not only ease traffic congestion but also stimulate economic activities across the state.
