The Rivers State Government says it is leveraging its vast coastline and rich aquatic resources to tap into the enormous wealth that abounds in the blue economy.
To achieve this goal, the Fubara Administration is investing in infrastructure projects like the multi-billion-naira Trans-Kalabari Road and the road leading to the lush sandy beaches of Oyorokoto, which also plays host to the largest fishing port in West Africa.

Speaking after he visited Andoni Local Government Area to inspect the road, Governor Siminalayi Fubara says once it’s completed, the road will not only improve access to coastal communities but also stimulate tourism and economic activities for the state.
Apart from the fishing port, Oyorokoto in Andoni Local Government Area is home to some of the most beautiful beaches found anywhere in the world.
The strategic road is a major effort by the Fubara Administration to open up the state’s vast coastline for economic growth.
The overall goal is to harness its rich aquatic resources and also tap into the enormous wealth that abounds in the blue economy.

When completed, the road will not only improve access to coastal communities but also stimulate tourism by unveiling to the world some of the most beautiful beaches found anywhere in the world.
But the project has not come cheaply, given the fact that the contractor has had to cut through a very difficult terrain.
