Total of 39 suspected terrorists and bandits who allegedly fled Sokoto State following a recent airstrike have been arrested by operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps.

The suspects were arrested at a forest in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

State Commander of Amotekun Corps, Adetunji Adeleye, made this known on Tuesday while parading 100 suspected criminals arrested across different parts of the state during the Corps’ Ember Months 24-hour patrol operations.

The major crackdown on crime in Ondo State saw 100 suspected criminals arrested for alleged crimes ranging from kidnapping, armed robbery, rape and other forms of sexual abuse, violation of anti-open grazing law, to the breakdown of law and order.

Among the suspects were 39 individuals believed to be terrorists and bandits who allegedly fled Sokoto State following a recent airstrike launched by the United States Government.

According to Adeleye, the suspected bandits who were arrested in the Elegbeka forest area of Ose Local Government are currently undergoing profiling to determine the next line of action, including their possible prosecution in court, or possibly repatriation back to Sokoto State.

Adeleye assured residents that the Amotekun Corps will continue to collaborate with other security agencies to ensure that criminal activities are nipped in the bud across the state.

The Amotekun Commander further revealed that the ongoing 24-hour patrol operations will be extended beyond the yuletide to sustain peace and security in Ondo State.
