Nigeria Police Force says it has recorded a major milestone in the fight against banditry and abductions following the arrest of 109 suspected criminals accused of disrupting peace across Kogi State, North-Central Nigeria.
State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Kankarofi, made this known shortly after commissioning the newly renovated Nigeria Police Area Command in Lokoja, the state capital.
Amid reports of repeated attacks in parts of the state, the Nigeria Police say they are intensifying operations to safeguard communities and restore confidence among residents.
The breakthrough has been described as a significant achievement in ongoing efforts to combat banditry, abductions, terrorism, and other forms of insecurity affecting Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
At the commissioning of the renovated Area Command office, which was funded by a philanthropist, Kogi State Police Commissioner Naziru Kankarofi briefed journalists on the progress made so far in addressing insecurity.

The Commissioner appealed to members of the public to continue providing credible information that could help security agencies prevent crime and dismantle criminal groups across the state.
Other speakers at the event reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating with the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen security and protect lives and property.
With this latest operation, stakeholders are urging security agencies to sustain the momentum and intensify efforts to clear remaining criminal elements from their hideouts, with the goal of restoring normalcy in affected communities.
