Nigeria has reaffirmed its diplomatic influence in West Africa, as Vice President Kashim Shettima represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential inauguration in Guinea.
The ceremony, held at the GLC Stadium in Nongo, Conakry, ushered in President Mamadi Doumbouya, formally concluding Guinea’s four-year military transition.

Leaders from across the continent were in attendance, including delegations from Ghana, Senegal, and South Africa.

In his inaugural remarks, President Doumbouya pledged allegiance to the constitution and a commitment to democratic governance.

Beyond diplomacy, the visit is also focused on expanding trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Guinea, aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and Nigeria’s broader role as a stabilising force in West Africa.
