The Niger State Government has finally approved the total lifting of restrictions on the movement of motorcycles and tricycles within the Minna metropolis between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
This development has brought respite to millions of Nigerlites who suffer untold hardships at night due to the restrictions and ban on the movement of motorcycles and tricycles.
This development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman, who explained that the decision followed a comprehensive review of the prevailing security situation in the State capital and was based on the strong recommendations of the State Security Committee.
He noted that the initial imposition of the ban on April 22, 2025, was a proactive measure that effectively achieved its primary objectives of curbing criminal activities and protecting lives and property.
According to the SSG, the removal of the restriction is a clear reflection of the significant and sustained improvement in the security landscape of Minna.
