The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has faulted the Tinubu administration’s announcement of Ambassadorial postings, calling it a diplomatic blunder and evidence of the government’s incompetence.
In a statement by Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, the party stated that publicly announcing the postings before obtaining the required agrément from host countries, as mandated by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, risks exposing Nigeria to diplomatic embarrassment.
The opposition party also questioned why only 65 ambassadors were announced for Nigeria’s roughly 109 diplomatic missions, while the government remains silent about the other 44 missions without envoys.
The party argued that after the mistake of similarly announcing postings to the UK, the United States, and France last year, including sending an unscreened ambassador to Turkey, it would have expected the government to learn its lessons and correct the mistake.

The Opposition again Questioned the tinubu’s govt on the three months delay after the senate confirmation of the nominees despite taking nearly three years to compile and forward the list to the National Assembly.
The party observed that only 65 ambassadors’ designations were announced instead of 109 which Nigeria maintains on her diplomatic missions around the worlds.
The party wondered if the TINUBU’s administration will fast track the remaining 44 postings due to the delays in the past or decide their seats vacant should it fails to post the ambassadors.
