Former Super Eagles midfielder, Henry Nwosu has passed on.
His death was announced by his colleague in the Super Eagles, Segun Odegbami in a social media post he made Saturday morning.
Odegbami wrote: “After 5 days in hospital battling for his life, the one I call ‘Youngest Millionaire’ passed on at 4:00 am this morning at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos where he had been in Intensive Care since Wednesday.
It is with deep pain in my heart that I have to be the conveyor of the news of the death of Henry Nwosu. May he rest peacefully with our Creator in Heaven. “
Henry Nwosu was a former Nigerian professional footballer and one-time captain of the Nigeria national football team.

He was born on 21 June 1963 in Oguta, Imo State, Nigeria and played mainly as a midfielder.
Nwosu began his club career with New Nigeria Bank F.C. and later played for Iwuanyanwu Nationale. He became known for his creativity, leadership, and strong midfield performances.
Internationally, he was part of the Nigerian team that won the 1980 African Cup of Nations, where he scored in the final against the Algeria national football team to help Nigeria secure a 3–0 victory. He later served as captain of the Super Eagles and represented Nigeria in other tournaments, including the 1988 African Cup of Nations.
After retiring from active football, Henry Nwosu became involved in coaching and football analysis, contributing to the development and discussion of football in Nigeria.
