The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has summoned Air Peace over what the regulator describes as a series of operational disruptions affecting passengers.
The airline has been directed to appear at the NCAA headquarters on Monday, March 16, 2026, to provide explanations regarding the incidents.
In a post on the verified X handle of the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of the authority, Michael Achimugu, the NCAA said the airline must account for a number of unexplained disruptions, including complaints from passengers on a Heathrow–Abuja flight who were reportedly rerouted through Gatwick–Lagos–Abuja.
According to him, the passengers were eventually stranded in Lagos after the aircraft reportedly returned mid-air due to a cracked windshield.

The authority said the development, alongside complaints relating to delayed refunds, compensation, and the provision of basic needs for passengers, prompted the activation of its Consumer Protection Department.
The NCAA warned that it will not tolerate the abandonment of paying passengers, stressing that while it continues to support domestic airlines, all operators must comply with strict regulatory standards.
The regulator added that an investigation has been launched, and appropriate action will be taken in accordance with Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023, which governs passenger rights.
