To ensure a joyful Eid-el-Fitr for all, the Kano State Government has distributed food items and livestock to thirteen rehabilitation centres across the state.
The gesture, facilitated through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), aims to give inmates a sense of belonging during the festivities.
Leading the distribution, Secretary to the State Government, Umar Farouk, emphasized that the intervention is about more than just food, it’s about dignity.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary of REPA, Farouk noted that the state is committed to an inclusive celebration where no one, regardless of their health challenges, is left behind.

SEMA Executive Secretary, Abdullahi Isyaku, added that the facilities are vital for more than just clinical recovery. He described the centres as places for rebuilding lives and restoring hope for the future.
The thirteen SEMA-managed centres provide a mix of medical care, psychological support, and vocational training to help inmates transition back into society.
The act serves as a timely reminder that compassion remains a cornerstone of the Sallah spirit.
