As the issue of land grabbing between the Niger State government and the Federal University of Technology, Minna, continues to generate reactions, the school’s Senate, at its 518th meeting held on Wednesday, March 25th, has passed a vote of confidence in the Vice Chancellor, Professor Faruk Kuta.
This, according to the Senate, is necessitated due to maturity and leadership in handling the situation.
The Senate also passed a vote of no confidence in the Pro-Chancellor, Muhammed Santuraki for failing to adequately defend the interests of the University.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to the Senate, Danladi Mallam.
The Senate according to the statement resolved after they deliberated extensively on the issues bordering on the claim of ownership of the Bosso Campus between the Federal University of Technology, Minna and the Niger State Government, that the Bosso Campus should neither be ceded to the Niger State Government nor co-shared with the College of Medical Sciences of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.
