Edo State Government has approved full educational scholarships for all three children of the late Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah, an indigene of the state who died in active service to the nation.
The approval by the Governor covers their education from current levels through university, reflecting the administration’s commitment to supporting families of fallen military personnel. The development was disclosed in a statement by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Patrick Ebojele.
The beneficiaries include Farida Hussain-Braimah, an undergraduate at Nile University, Abuja; Amir Hussain-Braimah, a secondary school student; and Yasmeen Hussain-Braimah, a junior secondary school pupil.
Governor Okpebholo described the gesture as a responsibility to honour the late officer’s sacrifice, assuring continued support to secure the children’s future. He noted that the initiative aligns with his administration’s SHINE Agenda, which prioritizes education, social welfare, and human capital development.
The late Brigadier-General, remembered for his discipline and patriotism, died during security operations and was buried with full military honours in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The state government also urged other stakeholders to adopt similar support systems for families of personnel who lose their lives in the line of duty.
