Residents of Ondo State, South-West Nigeria have called on the Federal Government to take proactive action in tackling the persistent cases of banditry and terrorism across the country.

They made this known in Ondo Town during a security stakeholders’ engagement that brought together government representatives, technocrats, and security experts.

Several parts of Nigeria are currently grappling with diverse security challenges, including terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry.

Ondo State is also affected, with recurring kidnapping incidents reported in communities around the state capital.

Stakeholders at the meeting expressed concern over the growing insecurity.

While acknowledging the efforts of security agencies, they called for reforms, improved welfare for officers, and the deployment of modern technological equipment to enhance operations.

They also urged the government to strengthen the nation’s security architecture while encouraging residents to support security agencies by providing credible information and timely intelligence to help prevent crime.
