President Bola Tinubu has arrived Nairobi, Kenya, ahead of the Africa-France Summit scheduled to begin later on Monday.
The Airbus A330-200 conveying the President landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at about 12:15 a.m. local time on Monday.
Tinubu’s visit to Kenya marks another diplomatic engagement aimed at deepening economic cooperation and strategic partnerships between African countries and France.
The Africa-France Summit, co-chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto, will hold from May 11 to May 12.
The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will focus on energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, restructuring of global financing architecture and climate action.
The Presidency said President Tinubu’s participation at the summit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening bilateral and multilateral partnerships that promote economic growth, innovation and sustainable development across the continent.
President Tinubu is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with African leaders, investors and business executives on the sidelines of the summit.
After the Nairobi summit, the President is expected to proceed to Kigali, Rwanda, for the annual Africa CEO Forum scheduled to hold from May 14 to May 15.
