The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released the Supreme Court-ordered ward and polling unit delineation report for the Warri Federal Constituency in Delta State.
The presentation was made in Asaba by the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Delta State and Supervising Commissioner for Edo, Delta and Cross River States, .
According to the report, Warri South Local Government Area now has 20 wards, with allocations shared between Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo communities. The report also outlines two state constituencies within the area.
In Warri North, the delineation provides for 20 wards distributed between Itsekiri and Ijaw communities, alongside two state constituencies.
For Warri South-West, the report allocates 20 wards, with 13 designated to Ijaw communities and seven to Itsekiri communities.
INEC also referenced proposals linked to additional federal representation in parts of the constituency, noting that any such adjustment would remain subject to constitutional amendment.
The delineation exercise follows years of disputes, protests and legal battles over political representation and ward structure within the Warri Federal Constituency.
