The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON, has unveiled the categories and judging framework for the 2026 Advertising Standards and Recognition Awards, ASRA, shifting attention from sanctions for non-compliance to recognising adherence to industry standards.
The council says the framework will combine compliance records, independent verification, and public nominations to determine awardees, as it seeks to strengthen accountability and encourage higher professional standards within Nigeria’s advertising ecosystem.
Briefing the media in Lagos on the Advertising Standards and Recognition Awards, ASRA 2026, the ARCON Director-General Olalekan Fadolapo said the awards will reward compliance and encourage responsible advertising practices.
The Chairman, Planning Committee, Yinka Adebayo, said the awards will also recognise individuals whose contributions have shaped the advertising industry.
Media Manager Tolaram Group, Adeola Amusan, noted that the initiative will promote creativity, professionalism, and excellence across the industry.
ASRA 2026 features four broad categories: Advertising Compliance, Public Sector, Private Sector, and Individual Recognition Awards, with nominations and subsequent voting subject to an independent audit process.
