A lady identified as wife of the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, Abba Kyari, on Monday, slumped at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Ramatu Kyari slumped on the ground shortly after justice Emeka Nwite adjourned ruling to March 28, on the bail request by Abba Kyari, the suspended deputy commissioner of police and his co-defendants over their trial bordering on illegal dealings on cocaine. Justice Emeka Nwite, adjourned for ruling after taking arguments from all the lawyers who told the court that they received a counter affidavit in response to their bail application from the NDLEA just before trial commenced, but the counsel for the 3rd defendant stated that he needed more time to respond, while the counsel for the 4th and 5th decided to respond orally.

Counsel for the 4th and 5th respondents told the court that despite the fact that the NDLEA allows his client family visitations, there is a need for his clients to be granted bail to enable them to relate better with their lawyers.

He asked the court to give conditions that would allow the 4th and 5th defendants to always appear in court after they have been granted bail while assuring the court that they would not jump bail.

The NDLEA lawyer objected to the application while telling the court that there are averments in their counter affidavits that shows strong reasons why all the defendants should not be granted bail.

Justice Emeka Nwite however adjourned to March 24 to hear the 3rd defendant’s bail application and March 28 for Ruling on the bail application of the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th defendants.
